Baptism Resources
Water baptism means to be submerged under water. This is done because you are symbolically washing away the old man and coming up walking as a new man (2 Corinthians 5:17). Water baptism is basically an outward expression of an inward change. We do this to be a witness to onlookers that we have received Christ as our personal Lord and Savior also to be obedient to His command. This means, according to scripture, that Jesus Christ must be accepted into your life before making this step. Water baptism is also an expression of your obedience to Christ. We understand it’s because it was His sacrifice that makes eternal life for us possible.
When you accept Christ, you recognize that you have lived a sinful life and need His saving grace that comes through faith in Him. Baptism lets everyone know that you have accepted Jesus Christ and intend to live a life according to the truths that you are learning and have learned of Him. This is you responding in compliance with His word showing your faith in Him by the blood He shed for us on Calvary.
